The new FALCON ‘X’ Box is a universal surface pattress which will accommodate both conduit and mini-trunking entry.

The ‘X’ box has been designed to prevent the removal of the knockouts once the pattress has been installed. The removal of the mini-trunking blank can only be achieved by fi rst sliding it backwards; this is not possible once the pattress is fastened to the wall. The conduit blank can only be removed from the inside of the pattress, this is not possible once a wiring accessory is in position.

The X box is supplied with both blanks already in position, for conduit entry the round blank should be removed (see the diagram right). A male or female adaptor should then be used to facilitate conduit entry.

If mini trunking entry is required the square blank should be removed (see the diagram). A mini trunking adaptor should then be used to reduce the aperture in the pattress to that of the mini trunking being used to bring services to it. A square to round adaptor is also available to facilitate the use of the pattress as a mini trunking through box.

A mini trunking only entry format is available which involves the round plug being permanently moulded into the box. In this format (if specified) conduit entry is not possible without fi rst drilling the box.
